No More Death

As we approach Easter season we are all very conscious of the resurrection of Jesus and his great victory over death. But have you ever considered that our inclusion in  his death is every bit as powerful as our inclusion in his resurrection from the dead?

By grace God has placed us in the event of Jesus' death also.  There is now no way to trace our lineage back to fallen Adam and sin, "old things have passed away."  We as believers have a brand new beginning, and the biblical record of our new history begins...
with death. That's right, death!

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? (Rom 6:3)

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death. (Rom 6:4)

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death. (Rom 6:5)

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. (Rom 6:6)

It's true, as Christians we do have a bright and glorious future, an eternal future filled with joyful bliss. Yet at the same time "In Christ" we have been credited with an awesome death, a death that is so complete and final it has broken the power of sin and death off our life (Rom 8:2).

What a memorial on our behalf that God would include us in the death of his Son, Jesus Christ. Therefore having died once, "In Christ," we are now delivered from the power of death! As Christians we will never die again, we will only change locations, goodbye earth---and hello heaven!
